It was beautiful here today. The high was in the 70's. I had a wonderful afternoon working in the yard and taking a nice long walk. After a tiring and productive day I decided to sit down and look at my new magazine. (Are you like me and buy every garden magazine you see! )This is the 2009 issue of "Small Gardens" published by Country Decorating Ideas. The title caught my eye because I do most of my gardening in the backyard which is a very small space.
This magazine is great! I thought I would show you some of the articles--things I bet all of you would be interested in. Like this article on perennials...
So many areas including mine fight drought conditions these day..
You know how I love container gardening!
We all need some low mainten-
ance ideas at times..
Isn't this a good thing to know...
We are talking about bulbs this time of year..how about some for the summer!

I love accessories in a garden. I do think they give a garden personality, and usually they copy the personality of the gardener!Our great day today will turn into a cold day tomorrow, but how much fun to have a great new magazine to look at and dream and plan while waiting for spring.

I have this one and love it! Yes, I buy many gardening magazines. Can't help myself. My gardening personality: I'd like to say "Cottage" but it's probably more like Sanford & Sons meets the garden pond! At least right now with all Robert's work stuff out there. You'll probably see it when we go to Blue Moon.

I have lots of treasures in my garden too. They probably only appeal to me--but that's ok. Your garden should reflect all the things you love!

Lots of good pictures and stories. I can't get enough of gardening magazines. My favorites are Fine Gardening, Horticulture, Tennessee Gardener, Organic Gardening, and Mother Earth News. I used to subscribe to Birds and Blooms and Backyard Gardening but it got to be too many:) Magazines everywhere! A friend of mine buys hers online at Amazon and Ebay I think it is. They are so fun on cold days. We still have a few more left.
I haven't seen that particular magazine! And believe me I have quite a few that I subscribe to at the moment! Thanks for the link love, I would definitely love those Hydrangeas. :)
I haven't seen that one but it's nice to hear people are still buying magazines. It seems there is one going under almost every day now. Looks like a lot of good stuff in it.
Hi Tina--I subscribe to Country Gardens, and Backyard --but buy the others when I see them. I get all excited when I'm at the store and come across a new magazine I don't have. Such an obsession!! :)
Racquel--I know we are all garden magazine readers-especially this time of year. I thought of you the second I turned the page and saw "hydrangeas." I always enjoy seeing all the varities you have!
Kathleen--I couldn't agree with you more! I am so upset there are so many magazines going out of publication, ie. Country Home. I love being able to look something up on the internet, but it can never replace a hard copy of something as beautiful as gardens.
Sigh....
Girl, I love all gardening magazines! Instead of buying them I usually just hang out at the gardening magazine rack.

I have that one too. One of my favorites. Yes, I do live kind of close to Dallas. We are about 2 hours NW of Fort Worth. W of Wichita Falls. It is so good to meet you & to have some Texas gardening blog buddies

I love mags. I have a stack of them I re read whenever I need some pretty color to look at(-: We are going to be having a major drought here this summer so I guess I need more drought tolerant plants(-:
Cindee, I think we especially enjoy our magazines this time of the year when we are not able to spend much time out in the garden.
You are experiencing the lack of rain too? I guess our friends in the north are lucky with their snow. At least their grounds are getting some moisture!
