Contentment

I rushed out to feed the fish at dusk. That time of day that is not light and not dark, but shadowy. It was so still..the only sound was that of the water from the old red pump very gently tumbling into the pond. As I looked up and caught this glimpse of the backyard, I felt so calm and relaxed. In this crazy world we live in, it is here in this small space that I find peace. I feel hope and joy; I feel content.

I hope you have a place in your garden that gives you peace and tranquility.

"She who loves a garden has a very special treasure..for she has found her private paradise. She loves the joys of simple living and the peace on which no man can put a price."

I don't have a special place in my backyard that beckons me to sit and rest a spell. I'm working on it though. We've only lived in this house about 18 months. There is much work to do.

Love your special area. It looks so nice and calming for sure. Like the quote too!

Susie--you will create a place that is special for you! But you are welcome to visit mine anytime! :)

JJ--glad you liked the peace..and it IS a great way to end the day. It's where I go every evening.

What a nice place to wind down after a long day at work. I like to sit in my swing in the backyard, it has a great view of all the garden beds. :)

Dusk and dawn are such quiet times in my garden. I like them both.

My garden isn't as nice as yours, but sometimes I'm stopped in my tracks by a particular lovely scene. It makes all the hard work worthwhile.

Great Quote!!! We all need to have a place to unwind. Especially these days. Myself - I like to unwind by reading. It is not a physical place like your yard and garden but it serves the same purpose.

Racquel--I like my swing too. I like the bench in your arbor garden. It looks very peaceful.
Have I seen a picture of your swing? :)

Tina I agree! I always love the garden, but there is a calm early in the morning, then again early evening that just can't be beat.

Lottie your garden is beautiful! And what you said is exactly what happened For just a few seconds I was stopped and felt such a good feeling about what I saw!

mr-yes we all do need a place these days. It doesn't have to be the same place for everyone--it is where we find some time away from all this craziness going on right now.

Oh, I love my pond too! I sit in the wrought iron chairs out by it and listen to the burbling water. Have you posted photos of your pond? I only found you recently and would love to see!

Brenda, I love my pond too. Look at the bottom right of the blog under labels, there is only 1 for the pond, but there is a picture.
My husband built the pond for me when all the kids grew up and left. The pond makes the little yard complete!
