Saturday at the Arboretum

My sister was in town this weekend so Mother and I decided to take her to the Dallas Arboretum.
I even saw a special friend there..
jenningsjunk was there with her mom and 2 cute nephews! (we always knew one day we would run into each other!)

We saw lots of things to remind us of fall..

Like a pumpkin house...

and a horse made of straw...

there were even pumpkins floating in a pond!

there was purple...

there were pinks and reds...

there was white...

and there was yellow
there were butterflies...

there were ponds,
with fish...

And there was a wonderful cottage garden
outside a cute pioneer cabin.
It was a perfect day to spend in the garden!

Gosh, I haven't been to the arboretum in ages, this makes me want to go. I cannot believe pumpkins float!

Hi Nola--we go to the Arboretum several times a year because we live so close and have a membership. Maybe the garden bloggers from our area should meet here sometime!

Beautiful gardens to spend a day in Linda! The pumpkin house & floating pumpkins are very creative touches for the fall. Lots of beautiful blooms still too.

The asters were all over in hugh mounds--they were beautiful!

Racquel there were so many touches of fall--especially with the pumpkins and gourds. It was a wonderful morning!

Mom was just saying we need to visit the arboretum. I heard about the pumpkin house. Cute idea. Sounds like a great visit.

Oh Debbi, you should visit. It's so pretty this time of year. My pictures do not do it justice--there is so much to see. And all the pumpkins add so much to the fall look.

After checking jenningsjunk's blog, I suspected I would see one by you as well. You had some great photos as well. There sure were some great colors and you did a good job capturing them.

It looks like you had a fun day with family at the arboretum. I like the photo of all the pumpkin kids playing in the shallow end of the pool. I think the only dive they'll know how to do is the cannonball.

northern shade--that's funny! Can you believe pumpkins float? And all they wanted was a good swim! :)
