Where do YOU sit?

I treasure Saturday mornings when I don't have to do anything specific, or be anywhere. Unless it is really cold-I always have my coffee outside. Yesterday morning was one of those wonderful times. Hubby left early to go play golf, and I headed out the patio door. As I sat there looking around my yard, I thought of Nola and her new outdoor room; and I thought of Balisha and her front porch; and I thought of Brenda and her new patio that is being built. I wondered if they were enjoying their coffee outside on this beautiful morning. One thought led to another..and it got me to thinking...where does everyone sit and enjoy their garden?
I sometimes sit in this old red chair. Hubby sits in this chair quite a bit. It's so old and rusty-I know if chairs could talk, it would have lots of good stories to tell.
I don't sit here very often-sometimes if we have company, but this chair is just cute and seems to be happy on the flagstone patio.
Sometimes I sit here on the wicker furniture. It is old and the paint is peeling--which makes me love it even more! There is a ceiling fan that gives a little air circulation when it's hot, but most of the time I sit here when it's raining. This area is covered and it's heavenly to sit with a cup of tea and watch it rain.
This is where you find me most of the time..in the swing. I usually end my day here, listening to the pond and relaxing. On the weekends, I might sit here in the morning and watch the sun come up over the house. At night I sit here and watch the stars come out. This is without a doubt my favorite place to be.
But this Saturday morning I sit here, on the patio, pond side. I have my coffee and I am making a list of what gardening chores I have for the day. This is a great place to sit...you can see the beds along the walkway and the wildflower garden; you can see the bird feeders; you can watch the fish play; and on nice evenings we have dinner here.
I have been an outdoor person my entire life. I often come home at noon and eat lunch outside. I walk out back early every morning to enjoy the freshness of a new day. I end every evening outside thanking God for all this beauty He has created. We are all so very blessed!
So..where do YOU sit??

You have so many wonderful and peaceful places to sit! I have a couple of plastic lawn chairs that I either enjoy on the back covered patio or pull out into the yard while I enjoy my morning coffee and then I have an old old plastic lounge chair that sits in the evening shade and looks out of the backyard and towards the front and neighborhood while I read my latest book :D

I love lounge chairs JJ. And I love reading outside which is what I have been doing all afternoon! :)

The above comment is so true. You have lovely and serene places to sit and contemplate what you want to get done that day. I so look forward to getting my place into some semblance of order. Tired of looking out over "the junk yard." Next I'll probably have rats rooting through stuff. Can't have a junk yard without a rat. Your space is so ultra cozy.

Your garden is just beautiful! I would love to sit anywhere there! I bet you really enjoy your mornings!!!
In the morning I love to walk around the yard with my cup in hand and my camera close by! I end up perching at my little table and chairs in the yard watching the birds and squirrels!

Thanks Brenda! I have thought about your patio and now new deck so many times. I love your gazebo and the way you covered the glider (is that right? I think it's a glider) with the vintage tablecloths. I know your new space will be wonderful too--you always do such a good job, inside and out!

Thank you Cindee--you are way too kind! I bet you really enjoy all your gardens. I would just love, love to see them one day. You'll have to post a picture of your porch again sometime soon. So homey and cozy! Lots of great places to sit and just think. :)

I love your seating areas! I feel sometimes that maybe I am odd because I have several seating areas in one tiny yard. Thanks for showing me it's okay to have abundant seating; I use different spots at different times, and depending on what the weather or my mood may be at any given time!
And you were right, I was out in my yard having coffee there early Sunday, also! I'll have to do a post and show all my areas when my stonework is finished.
Thanks for thinking of me!

Nola, I have such a tiny backyard, but all this front and side yard that is wasted! (we are on a corner lot) I have several places to sit, and like you, it depends on the mood I am in. The swing is my favorite though.

Balisha--guess that means we all sort of had coffee together! :)
I really loved your front porch post!

So many beautiful spots to sit & relax in your garden Linda. :) I love my swing in the yard & the bench in the Arbor Garden. :)

Racquel--you know which one of those is my favorite! The bench! There is just something welcoming about that bench in the arbor garden--I can picture myself sitting there, coffee in hand, while admiring the flowers! sigh.... :)

I love all your areas to sit and relax and enjoy your gardens! I have several lime green resin Adirondack chairs scattered around the back. They're easy to move as needed and very comfortable to lounge in. It's getting a little hot for that already, though!

I love Adirondack chairs too Cindy. And you have so many areas to put them in! I hate that it is getting hot...I love to be outside too much for that to happen so soon!

You have so many lovely sitting areas. I'd happily sit in any of them for a while.

Now that you mention it, I'm actually sitting outside on a rustic Adirondack on the small circular patio by the pool. I have an upper patio and a deck for sitting also, but it gets hot at this time of year. One day I hope to roof the deck and put an arbor over the upper patio, and then they will be much more comfortable and cozy.

That idea sounds lovely Pam. Will you grow something on the arbor? I love vines growing, even though I know they can be destructive.
Sounds like you had a great time in Chicago.

Lots of wonderful places to sit indeed. I think that white wicker furniture looks most inviting! It is wonderful to be able to sit and relax in the garden.

I agree Tina--after lots of hard work it's nice to be able to sit a while and relax!
