Garden Blogger's Bloom Day

Carol at May Dreams Garden invites garden bloggers to participate in Garden Blogger's Bloom Day (GBBD) the 15th of every month. Since I am pretty new to blogging--this will be my first time to share what's blooming in my yard for GBBD.

This is butterfly weed. No caterpillars yet!

The crepe myrtles are still looking pretty.

This is a pink Mexican Petunia. The blooms only last one day. They are such a pretty shade of pink.

Cream Brulee Coreopsis that I have grown to love! It has done fantastic in this heat.

My favorites--Black-eyed Susans. They are in almost every flower bed I have and in vases inside the house.

First year for profusion zinnias. I will definitely plant them next year!

Pass-along Phlox from my Mother is still looking pretty and smelling good!

Blackfoot Daisy. Some lived, others did not. Why,why, why???

The great purple coneflowers They stand proud and tall against the Texas heat.

And, the best picture from the garden----the rain gauge. It rained 2 1/2 inches this morning!!
Whoo-hoo!!

What a perfect way to celebrate Bloom Day!

Your flowers looks so fresh and crisp and beautiful. Since I'm in your area, one of my favorites is also your rain gauge :-) Glad I don't have to pick a favorite among your blooms for today, each photo gave me a lift.

Your garden looks great. I grow a lot of those same flowers, and they're all great performers. I've not had any Monarchs on my Tropical Milkweed either, but I have had aphids.~~Dee

All your blooms look especially pretty & refreshed after their morning shower Linda! Yay for you! I hope we get some soon too. I love Phlox, it has such a pleasant fragrance especially in the morning & evening. Your Blackeyed Susans still look great.

Your flowers are beauties---and so is that water in the rain gauge. Send some our way, Linda!

Dee, I usually have terrible problems with aphids, but none so far this year. I haven't seen many butterflies around, so I wonder about caterpillars.

Thanks perennialgardner. We were all very happy with the rain. My susans are looking kind of sad. I dead headed like crazy last night. Maybe that will help.

Pam, we were so excited when thunder woke us up around 4am. I think it was a cool front that brought us this rain, so I think it WILL be headed your way! And, I hear there is more to come!!

You are so right! We do have a lot of the same plants. All your blooms look great! Watch out for those orange aphids. They are now on my butterfly weed.

Those rudebeckias sure are lovely. A great favorite flower! Your crepe also looks super. Great you had some rain. None here.

Susie--last year the butterfly weed was covered in aphids! But the caterpillars didn't seem to mind as much as I did! I'm not seeing many butterflies this year..why is that?

Tina, thanks, I love my Susans! Picked some last night to being inside. I'll tell the rain to head your way! They are saying we will get some more early next week!
Yea!!!

A very nice display for 'somewhere in Texas'. I know it's been hot there, so to have blooms in August is very nice, and rain in the gauge is even better.

Thanks for joining in for bloom day!

Thanks Carol! I feel very fortunate to have a few things looking good. Of course, I didn't take any pictures of my
"crispy critters!"
