Leaving Spring at home....

For a few days last week we left the spring like weather behind and headed for a family get together in Colorado. No spring here yet...but lots and lots of SNOW! This is the house we rented in Breckenridge.
The house was in a very picturesque setting and so convenient to the gondola for those wanting to get to the ski lifts.

The first day we got there it was clear, but the next evening it started to snow quite a bit--and by Friday things were really snow covered.

Hubby and I are not skiers...
..but we sure enjoy taking care of little snow bunnies!
More fun in the snow came from snow mobiles! Have you ever ridden one? It was soooo much fun. I was a little nervous, but it was not hard and the scenery was breathtaking!
Hubby and I go to Colorado almost every year, but only in summer. We have never gone in winter, and we have never seen any snow but Texas snow-- so this trip was quite an experience for us. Not only did we get to be with our kids and grandson, we got to experience the mountains we love so much covered in beautiful white snow. It was hard to say goodbye and come home.
But we left winter behind and came home to "almost Spring" in Texas. More daffs were blooming, the tulips were starting to appear, the pansies looked happy and recovered from our harsh cold spell--spring is certainly on the way.

What a 360 that is from all that snow to your spring like garden! Glad you and hubby had a fun time with the family. :)

Those of us at home with snow would never have left your home! But then, you look like you're enjoying the change.

I'm so envious! I've never ridden a snowmobile though growing up in Maine they were as common as cars. Maybe one day. I bet it was fun. That is a LOT of snow! Looks ever so fun!

Kim--he IS a real cutie! Can't wait for you to see him!

Racquel--I know, it was a big change to go from spring like to winter, but we had such a great time!

Balisha--I will say as much as we enjoyed the beauty of winter, we are happy to be back to our Texas weather!

Sandy--I will admit I had a hard time leaving daffodil and tulip buds and head to snow, but this is the first time I have ever seen and been in "REAL" snow so it was fun and exciting for us!

Oh Tina--that snow mobile was so much fun. I would go back and do that again in a heartbeat. To be up in the mountains with all that beauty too---OMG it was awesome! :)

Snow is awesome when spending time with the ones you love! While living in Colorado, we tried skiing and it just was not for us. We had a blast on Snowmobiles and going down hills on inner-tubs! Wow, you brought back a flood of memories for me as that was over 20 years ago! What a cherry welcome home with the daffys…

Susie-snow mobiling IS a blast! You would love it, but I bet you are a skier. I really wanted to try, but at my age I was afraid to.

Skeeter--I really wish I had tried to ski, but we never had the opportunity and now I think I am too old! :) We were going to go snow tubing but ran out of time. Maybe next year! (and yes, seeing the daffs made me really happy to be home!)

Colorado looks cold! Your garden, however, looks cool!

Cindy--Colorado WAS cold, but I took the right clothes and it was not too bad. Such powdery snow-not wet at all. But...I was glad to get back to Texas!

Cindee--it was exciting to see "real" snow, but I was glad to get back to my garden. Riding that snow mobile was awesome though--might like to do that again some time!

Sounds as tho you had a blast. It is a lot of fun, so many things you can do. We use to pull a sheet of metal behind the car. It slides easy, sometimes too easy. lol Kids, we knew no danger.

Lola--we really wanted to go snow tubing (similar to what you did as a kid) but just ran out of time. All our kids (plus spouses and girlfriend) ski and were pretty worn out too. Maybe next time!

It's lovely, but not for me. I've often said that I'll never "voluntarily" go somewhere colder! LOL

Robin--the fact we are from Texas made it a perfect place to visit. We left the snow and cold, and came home to daffys and tulips and warmer temps! Perfect! :)
