Love it! Got a pot that looks almost like it too. Those hens and chicks can't be beat. My mail lady left a big bag of them in my mailbox one day. I planted them in the garden where they promptly disappeared. Now in pots they are doing well. Too funny huh? Have you planted coleus yet? I can't wait to see it this year. I don't have so much luck with it.
Tina,I bought just a few coleus for a large pot with mixed flowers, but I have not bought any others. I have found over the years that coleus do better for me if I wait until May.
Glad you like the hens and chicks. Lowe's had a truck load and they were selling them for half price! Whoo-hoo!
Linda that is really cute. I never thought that hens/chicks would look cute in a planter like that. Guess I learned something, huh?
I love hens and chicks(-: Was that a current sale at Lowes? If so I wonder if our Lowes has the same deal? I better swing by there and check it out! You can never have to many right? Mine do better in a pot of some sort too. The ground plantings seem to die out for some reason. I just found a couple new ones on ebay that I bid on. Dotty and Hercules. They looked pretty cool(-:
That is a great looking pot you have those Hens & Chicks growing in Linda! I've been considering getting a large strawberry type jar to plant some in. :)

Cindee--I thought of you when I saw these! It was just last week. The name on the tag says "Hardy Hens and Chicks, Sempervivum Rubusto" I hope they do well. I am dying to grab a baby and start a new plant. That is what is so much fun with these! Hope you find some too!
I love strawberry pots Racquel, but would never have thought of hens and chicks in one--but why not, right! I love succulents! Perfect for Texas!
I love how you've planted the hen and chicks in there! I've never thought of that. I find those plants to be so full of texture and color shades around the edges.

These are what I am trying to grow in Maryland - to have one small garden that will come up and spread of hens and chicks that I can out garden items of chicken "things" in to accent the plants. Cindees Garden and I have been discussing it too - this is lovely! My grandmother in NJ always had them in her rock garden so there must be some species that survive the cold too. Jennifer

Jennifer, that is a wonderful idea! I love succulents as does Cindee! They are do good with our Texas heat! Actually,I think they do pretty good everywhere!

Linda !!! I absolutely love the hen'chicks container .. I have a terra cotta "herb vase" like that so I think I am going to try that out .. I swore I would only do easy pots this year .. too much fussing over complicated watering schedule .. these guys and herbs are more forgiving ? LOL
Joy, these should be very easy to grow as they require very litte water. I water using a can and water from top, then in the sides just a little. They like it hot..and are very drought tolerant. :)
