Sweetest Little Tulips!

Aren't these the cutest little flowers? They are "Full House" tulips from Brent and Becky's bulbs. They were planted in December after chilling in the frig a few weeks.
I don't plant a lot of tulips--you know, they just don't return, but I always try a few for that early spring show. These little cuties are really early. I saw them poking through the ground right before our ice and snow. I mulched them really good, and when the sun came back out, they started to grow.
What a cheery sight to look out and see these red and white flowers blooming among all the brown of winter! I think they are the sweetest little tulips I have ever seen!

You are so right Tina! That is exactly what they look like. Too bad I can't have them blooming at Christmas! :)

Great Pics!!! Do You remember the phrase something like "Is it Memorex or is it live?" I can only imagine how nice they must be to see in person.

Oh my, how lovely they are. Just makes you want to reach out & hold it in your hand. Looks delectable.
It is a shame that they won't come back.

Those are gorgeous; and all the more so because they're harbringers of spring. How I long for them here in Nova Scotia.............

A prettier sight then the Frozen Pond! For some reason I thought of Christmas when seeing these. I am guessing I was thinking of the Candy canes as Tina mentioned above… Hopefully, cabin fever will soon be a mere memory for you as for I...

Lola-the hard thing about tulips are (for us in Texas) all the work involved in fall--then having them bloom only a short while and know they will not return. But..every year I just have to plant a few. This may be one variety I re order!

Thank you Sandy! They do add some brightness to late winter days. We are lucky to have early signs of spring--but then we also have July temps! :)

Skeeter--now that you and Tina are thinking candy canes, I am going to imagine a pepperminty smell! :)
I think cabin fever is over. I have been able to get out and play in the dirt. I love, love spring!!

Lovely colour on your tulips!

Thank you Heather! I love red and white and just had to see what they looked like. Wish they would come back next year!

They are pretty little tulips. Tulips suffer in my yard because little critters like to get them but there are a few that I can see popping up through the ground. They are a sure sign of spring. How festive yours look. Almost good enough to eat;-)

They are very pretty, love the candy can effect to them. :)

It is a shame you could not have those around Christmas - candy cane tulips - how festive!

Your sister, Kim

PS I really must create my own google account thingy....

And, in addition to creating an account, I apparently also need to read the previous comments before posting, as you have already commented on the whole Christmas connection! Sigh....maybe more coffee???

Don't feel bad, tulips don't always come back here either. Many people just treat them as annuals. Still, yours are quite charming! I have some species tulips starting to come up, they may be small, but they come back reliably.
