A Rainy Saturday

Here are two reasons it does not need to rain all day and keep me inside!

I was planning on flower shopping and planting today, but instead...I baked!

Chocolate chip cookies...
...and Blackberry Cobbler.

No new flowers...
but YUM!!

Hope you had a good Saturday!

I tried to reach through my monitor to get at that black berry cobbler.

Wish I could share it Debbi! I found the berries at Cotton's-that family market I told you about. I had to add quite a bit of sugar, but it was pretty good (warm of course with ice cream!) :)

Boy, to be at your house on a rainy day! The smells must be delicious!

The smell was pretty good Tina! I didn't mention it, but I was cooking fresh (from the freezer from last summer) purple hull peas too! :)

I must have missed the invitation. I would have loved having some of that cobbler. And I was just telling JJ I would be willing to bring the Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla.

Blackberry cobbler! I'm coming for dessert. I wish rain would cause me to be prolific in the kitchen!

Susie--ok--I will eat some for you! :)
It was a fun day..even if I wasn't in the garden.

Brenda--rain does that to me. I always want to cook on a rainy day. Good thing I am usually at work!

That's a great way to spend a rainy day. I bet your kitchen smells yummy. :) It's been raining here all weekend too Linda.

Racquel, I am grateful for the rain, but wish it would come during the week and not on the weekends! I'm ready to be back out in the garden! :)

OMG, that is a feast to die for. Iced Tea or coffee to go with it. Yuuummmm!

Hi lola! I think milk with the cookies (that's what hubby had) and either iced tea or coffee would work with the cobbler. And of course, ice cream with the cobbler! :)

That cobbler looks delish. Did you freeze berries last year? We've always pick them, freeze them, then mama would make huge cobblers for 4th of July!

Nola, these berries were fresh from Cottons, a little market close to me. I did overbuy, so I froze some. We had berry or peach cobbler all summer when I was a kid. Such good memories....
